Ok i never finished this project...after lots of reading on different arcadeboards my interest slowly shifted from wanting a mamecabinet with 5 million games for every console ever made + every arcade game ever, to wanting a real arcade... At first i planned on getting a upright US or EU one... But then i learned about the japanese candy machines...and after awhile mame didn't seem that interesting anymore, and i lost the spark.
Instead i wanted a REAL authentic arcade, no emulation, but the real deal... and i set my mind to getting a candy!
After some research i was down to a few candidates...mostly upright ones, but i really wanted a candy cocktail, and especially the ultrarare sega aero table...very few of em around and i didn't think it was possible for me to ever find one.
But I suddenly one were up for grabs ( Thanks AO ), and after waiting for a few weeks it was finally here in my livingroom!!!
I needed to replace a few parts, the panel was all rusty and scratched to hell, and it took me forever to find replacements, but now its finally all done!!!
So i present to you.... my first very first arcadecabinet...the sega aero table!!!

Arcade Project - Day II
Hey peeps!! got some more work done on the arcade today! :D

Used the hammer to gently knock black and white cams in the predrilled holes, then i installed pins.

Afterwards i put the panels together, just tightening the cams over the pins...very easy :)

Then i secured the bottom plate using same technique.

Measured the depth of the monitor and fastened the monitorstand in correct height...had to use a few tries to get it right :P
Then i fastened the panel in front where the fans supposed to be.

Heres the tabletop all done w/ t-molding.

I installed t-molding for the controlpanels last time, so i just had to hammer in cams and screw in pins, then assembling the controlpanels was very easy..

Control panel from top view...

Mounted the control panels on each side and placed the monitor inside...

Gently applied pressure to the tabletop so it fell into place, and then tightened the cams...

View from the top...Havent installed bottom parts for controlpanels so you can see right through...no need cause have to wire everything up first

Havent recieved my mountingkit for teh joysticks so they're missing, also need to order player 1 buttons and some admin buttons

Heres how it looks after i secured the last panel infront :)

awww...so close..nearly there!!
Now all i need is artwork for tabletop and controlpanels...wireing, mounting joysticks + a few more buttons, install some hardware, and get the glassplate to put on top.

Gonna be atleast two weeks til next update...artwork is in the making and i have to wait till i get some more cash to order the rest hehe...
PEACE!!

Replacementparts have shipped!
Just got a mail from mameroom that they shipped out replacements...Finally!!!!
Fingers crossed for fedex being more gentle this time...
Since last time ive got myself a lovely 19" crt monitor

Its a Compaq P900 Professional, supposedly an old high-end monitor my friend told me. He looted it when a small mobile company he worked for went bankrupt...but now it was just gathering dust in his closet... Anyway it will fit beautifully in my cab :)
Check back next week!

Arcade Project - Day I
Hey! Ive decided to treat myself with an arcademachine yay!
So.. after some googling i realised i needed to order a kit...
There were several options but i settled on The Ultimate Cocktail Cabinet Kit from mameroom.com
After two weeks of waiting.....

....Finally the package arrived!!

Kitty goes for a close inspection....

The joy and excitement of wrapping up this baby wasnt gonna last long...instead it turned to shock, horror and disbelief....

NOOOOOOO!! FedEx had fucked up my package during shipment!!! Those cunts!!!

No hope for fixing this up myself... :(

Gotta get replacements shipped from US...
That means more waiting :/

The tabletop also got a little bit of damage.
Ofcourse the parts that got damaged are essential to further progress of the build...so i cant really get any further before i get replacement parts....
:(

So just out of boredom i installed t-molding on the parts that acutally survived the fedex abuse.

Control panels and sidepanels w/ t-molding.

Quite happy with the result :)

Oh and i got another package earlier this week with some stuff from Ultimarc.com

Minipac + harness, 2 x Sanwa J-stick balltop (JLW-TM-8), 16x pushbuttons + microswitches

Blurry close-up of minipac...sorry bout that

Hehe I was a little wasted while ordering and ended up with 2x 2player buttons :P
OK..thats all the parts i have for now...check back laters for more progress.
Peace!
